I know they’re different fields of study, but for either of them, how do you think the future looks for someone that graduates with a major in the field? Please take into consideration issues of outsourcing. I’m trying to figure out what I want to major in and I’m stuck between computer science or just majoring in biology and head to med. school to become a psychiatrist. My real passion is in computers, but medicine (specifically psychiatry) is pretty high up there in interests. Thanks
There’s always a demand for people with computer science skills but you can acquire these with certificates and don’t necessarily need a 4 yr degree. In the US you would probably work for a large company that has a network and need for business information system. To become a psychiatrist you’re going to invest a huge amount of time and $ in a medical degree and had better LOVE it. I suggest you go with your passion, recognizing that our life’s passion can be everyday drudgery in the real world.
